Sping, Flowers, Gardening, and Ideas Galore

I love this time of year - it's invigorating to say the least.  It's the time when we come out of hibernation, enjoy the outdoors, and begin to see bursts of new color all around us.  Lawns that have been dormant, and sometimes tinged with the dull shade of brown, awaken to the season of Spring.   Trees come to life with the emergence of leaves, and buds appear on flowers just ready to open, and greet the day with abundance of colors and hues.

Browsing and shopping every nursery or garden center within a 20 mile radius of the house is a favorite pastime of mine.  I can't help myself - it makes me happy.  Now my husband, on the other hand, might not enjoy browsing or making the color selections, will always help in planting my new babies.  He gets two thumbs up in my book for all his help.

Finding plants that will thrive in this Texas heat is what I'm after, and year round color from Spring to Fall - yes, that sounds like a winner to me.  I've found some resources to help me in my endeavor and have listed them below.  I would love to hear what your favorite plant is and any tips or secrets to your gardening success.  Until then... happy planting!
